Art<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

For younger children, the addition of the \u201cA\u201d or art in STEAM offers an opportunity to tie together STEM concepts in ways that are interesting and meaningful through projects and activities: creative problem solving,  drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, and digital photography. <\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

Literacy<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

STEAM curriculum will also focus on literacy development, an essential component of early education, by tying STEM to activities to key areas such as reading, vocabulary development, and oral language.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Science<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Based on the grade level, children will engage daily in STEAM activities that tie together learning to the relevant standards-based, core topics, themes, or units.  This integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to teaching and learning will include opportunities to engage with the engineering design cycle, collaborate and communicate with their peers, and make connections across subject areas.  Further, children will showcase their creations in monthly STEAM nights where families, teachers, administration, and staff will come together as community.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

Physical Education<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Our grade school\u2019s PE program provides students with a positive learning environment where each student is given the opportunity to feel empowered through fitness and sport. Activities are centered on skill development, lifetime fitness concepts, team building and cooperative learning. Key elements in PE for students in grades Pre-K to Grade 2 include learning important movement foundations such as locomotor moves, throwing, catching, kicking and striking, as well as building important teamwork skills. Key elements for students in grades 3-6 include learning various types of dance, the basics of team sports, positive conflict resolution methods and various elements of physical fitness.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

Mathematics<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Social Science<\/h4>\n\n\n\n
